After spending 1.5 million dollars to keep this jet in California, the Mexican government has finally realized that we have enough space to take care of it ourselves...which we already knew as the jet had lived in Mexico for around two years before it was shipped out to Victorville.
They also designed a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for the jet, because apparently one of their marketing strategies is now looking at a co-ownership model where the jet is shared by twelve stakeholders. So long as a stake is controlled by the Mexican government the jet will be operated by the Mexican airforce.
Which is kind of odd when you think about it. Does that mean it will keep its governmental “XC” registration and fly under a “FAM” callsign?

They need to ditch the 78 and get a nicely appointed Gulfstream or similar.

Ditching a 787 is comically complicated.... It might be what doesn’t let AMLO sleep at night

Sounds like a good idea, it’ll help lower costs . It seems like an aircraft used for a head of state would have a lot of down time, might as well share the resource and costs. I’m sure agreements would give the president priority use over the other stakeholders involved.

Call the Canadians,
their VIP transport
crashed into the side of a hangar under tow and one of the backups needs months of repairs

Well, I mean, Canada has spent over 4 years trying to figure out how to rewire his house and repoint the masonry, of course there’s going to be problems with something as complicated as a jet.

I don’t know why you’d throw good money after bad on those 30+ yr old Wardair A310s. I mean they could make an insulting cash offer on this one that’s probably less than what it will cost to keep the VIP configured A310 running for the next few years
